We have made a change to the way the menu works across all templates, in order to improve the usability of websites created using PromoteMyPlace.
We had a few customers mention some confusion with regards to the off screen menu on smaller devices.
The confusion was related to menu items that had sub-menus underneath.
They were clicking on the main menu item and nothing was happening - not realising that they needed to click on the sub-menus below it.
To avoid any confusion we decided that we needed to make the sub-menus more obvious.
We did this by adding a down arrow next to any menu items that have a sub-menu and forcing the user to click on the main menu item to open the sub-menu.
This makes it more obvious to the user that the sub-menu has opened and they need to click a sub-menu item to change the page.
The addition of this down arrow has resulted in the menu items with sub-menus being slightly wider.
In some instances this could mean that your menu is now too wide for the designated area and it will be forced to collapse on desktops as well as tablets and mobile devices.
If this has happened to your website you will need to re-arrange menu items and/or rename them to get the menu to fit on screen again.
