We recently released an update to PromoteMyPlace which includes changes to allow you greater flexibility when creating your websites:
- Section 2 – Choose & Customise Template – ability to change fonts and edit logo
- Enquiry Form – more choice with additional fields
- Section 1 – Website Short Description change of location
Section 2 – Choose & Customise Template – changes
For improved ease-of-use, we’ve separated the different functionality into separate menu items within this section.
NB: This added functionality only applies to the new responsive templates. If you’re still using the old templates, we advise updating to the new ones. More information on how to do that can be found here.
These individual sections are also viewable from the Admin Menu when previewing your website:
There are two new pieces of functionality within this section:
- Change Font
- Edit Logo
These enhancements allow you more control over the font selection throughout your website, as well as being able to change the logo font (if you’ve not uploaded a logo image).
1. Change Font
This section gives customers the ability to select a different font theme for their chosen template.
The font selections available are font pairs that work well together. This selection will be added to over time.
2. Edit Logo
This section allows customers to make changes to the logo font and increase the size of the tagline.
- The logo font can be changed completely to your preferred style
- The tagline font (your website short description) can be changed only by size and in to bold or italic. This is to avoid the use of too many fonts on your website, which could slow it down.
NB: If a font theme has been chosen in the Change Font section then the Edit Logo section will display that same font by default. But you can change it to your preferred font if you want.
If no font theme has been selected, the default font for the template will be displayed.
And remember, it’s possible to reset all fonts back to the default font within both sections.
If you have chosen to upload your own logo to your website, this will override the standard logo section. However, the Website Short Description section will remain - unless you choose not to add any text to this field in Section 1 – Website Basics.
3. Enquiry Form Changes
Based on customer feedback, we’ve made some changes to the enquiry form options.
You can now choose which fields you want to display on the enquiry form by going to Edit Website Content > Enquiries
As you can see, you can also specify whether you accept pets. If you do not, it will show a highlighted message above the form saying so.
Plus, we have added a box which shows the number of nights when dates are selected from the calendar, so that the guest can check this is correct before submitting the form.
Section 1 – Website Short Description change
We have moved the location of the Website Short Description field to make it more obvious where to find it. It can now be found in Section 1 – Website Basics – under the Website Name and PromoteMyPlace Domain Name.
