Unfortunately having a website alone is not always going to be enough to generate bookings for your holiday rental. As with any website and small business you will also need to promote it in order to drive traffic and generate bookings.
As an example we also recommend the following, as part of an overall marketing strategy:
- Advertise on listing sites with a direct link back to your website for further information.
- Complete your on-page search engine optimisation (SEO) i.e. add keywords and phrases into the main content area of each webpage as well as page titles where appropriate. Choose keywords that a potential customer would use in search engines to find a property like yours in your location, but making sure they are included naturally throughout the content of your website. For help with choosing your website keywords please refer to our blog article on this topic here.
- Get some external links pointing to your website from other related websites i.e. listing sites, local tourist information websites, holiday rental forums, directories and social media channels (e.g. Facebook & Twitter). For further information on link building, please refer to our blog article here.
These are just a few ideas. For more detailed information please refer to our blog where we have articles relating to marketing tips for holiday home owners.
