How to submit an XML sitemap to Google Search Console & Bing Webmaster Tools

To submit an XML sitemap to Google and Bing, first you need to verify ownership of your website:

Please note: When adding your domain name to Google Search Console or Bing Webmaster Tools, you should include the 'www.' For example, http://www.myholidayvilla.com or https://www.myholidayvilla.com, which one you choose will depend on whether you have HTTPS enabled on your PromoteMyPlace website. 

Once you have done that instructions for submitting your sitemap to Google and Bing are as follows:

Google

To submit your XML sitemap to Google go to the sitemap section in Google Search Console and follow the instructions provided for submitting your sitemap:

Just type in sitemap.xml into the field provided.

Bing

To submit your XML sitemap to Bing go to the sitemap section in Bing Webmaster Tools and follow the instructions provided for submitting your sitemap:

Make sure you enter the full URL for your sitemap into the field provided, which will be yourdomainname.com/sitemap.xml - replacing yourdomainname.com with your own domain name.
