Certain countries legally require that you include a privacy policy on your website. You can find more information about the law in your country here: https://privacypolicies.com/blog/privacy-law-by-country/
A privacy policy is a document that outlines how and what data your website gathers from your visitors and is unique to each website. You can find more information on this here: http://www.webhostingsecretrevealed.net/blog/blogging-tips/have-a-website-you-need-a-privacy-policy-heres-why/
There are free privacy policy templates and generators available via a quick Google search. However, you will need to ensure that the privacy policy is customised to suit your website and the laws of your country.
We’ve created a template that you can work from. Simply make any relevant edits to ensure you've covered all areas of your data processing system. Click here to download it in PDF format and click here to download it in Word format.
Ideally, the privacy policy should be a page in your footer menu. To do this, create a new custom page by following the instructions here: https://promotemyplace.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/216229483-How-to-add-remove-pages-from-your-website
You can set the page to display only on your footer menu by following the instructions here: https://promotemyplace.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/216229723-How-to-create-a-footer-menu-that-is-different-to-the-main-menu-
Then, simply go into Edit Website Content and select your new custom page. Copy and paste your privacy policy text or one of the templates as suggested above into the page content editor and remember to save.
