We will be migrating PromoteMyPlace to a new server environment Monday 11th June and Tuesday 12th June from 8pm until 2am (GMT).
During this time you will not be able to login to your PromoteMyPlace website to make changes, but your website will remain online for visitors to view and make enquiries. We apologise for any inconvenience, but this is to prevent any updates to your website being lost during the transfer.
The new environment should allow for greater flexibility with regards to upgrades as well as enhanced reliability. It will also allow us to offer SSL certificates for all websites.
What does this mean to you?
This question depends on whether you are using a custom domain name i.e. not one with a PromoteMyPlace.com extension, and how you have connected it to your PromoteMyPlace website.
For those using their own custom domain name, if you are using the standard 'name server' method to connect your domain to your website i.e. you changed the name servers to point to our name servers, you do not need to do anything.
If you are using the alternative 'A record' method to connect your domain name to your website i.e. you have setup an A record to point to our IP address, you will need to update the DNS settings for your domain name (details to follow), once the migration to the new server environment has been completed. Of course, we can help you with this if necessary.
During the migration we expect there to be minimal disruption to the service, but if you do experience any issues, please get in touch via the support system.
We will keep you fully updated with progress.
If you have any questions, please submit a support ticket and we will be happy to answer them.
Kind regards,
The PromoteMyPlace Team
