If you are using the next generation of Google Analytics, (Google officially made Google Analytics 4 "GA4" the default option for all new Analytics properties in October 2020), you'll need to add the GA4 Tag ID to your PMP site to allow Google Analytics 4 to collect relevant data.
To add the GA4 Tag to your new website, follow these steps:
1.) Follow the instructions to find your GA4 Tag ID here - https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/9539598?hl=en&ref_topic=9303319&sjid=6126554334141874040-EU
2.) Once you have this tag (it should be in the format G-XXXXXXX) you can add it to the Google Analytics section of your website.
- If you're using PMP 1, go to Section 7 - Setup Google Analytics and enter the ID into the field provided.
- If you're using PMP 2, go to Setup Analytics in the left-hand menu.
Please note: Google Analytics does require Cookie Consent in order to work correctly. So, you'll need to turn this on within your PMP 2 website dashboard by going to Site Options in the left-hand menu, or within your PMP 1 website dashboard by going to Widgets > Choose Page Widgets > Cookie Consent.
